Saber y Conocer

For those of you taking Spanish or know spanish you know what saber and conocer mean. For those who don't let me tell you!

Saber- to know

Conocer-to know

confused? Well saber means "to know of", while conocer means "to know personally"

Example: "I know George Washington was a great president." -that is saber because I've never had a conversation with George Washington to know him and be friends with him!

"I know where Alex lives."-this is conocer, it implies that I know Alex like a really good friend, and I have been to his or her house and know how to get there...

So now that we all know what saber and conocer mean lets get into it!

So we have this club called "FCA-Fellowship of Christian Athletes" well some of the people in the club, I would have never guessed in years that they were Christians. They don't act like Christians but they call themselves Christians. I think many people do this... Anyone can GO to church or SING a christian song they saber God. They know who he is and they know he died, but they dont KNOW Him and what He can do. They dont act like they know who He is, and A minister told me that people should be able to tell you are a Christian when you walk in, not because you wear a T-Shirt, a necklace, or show up to church, but because you have seen HIM through knowing Him.

When Moses came off of the mountain with the 10 commandments it says that he would glow because he was in the presence of God. Thats what we need to look like. . . so GLOW FOR GOD!!

Prayers

Ok so I have a hard time with prayer... I know the worlds best wireless connection and I don't have it down.... I was thinking about starting to write them down, or to pray prayers right out of the bible... If anyone has any good prayers out there i would love to hear them!

TELL THE TRUTH!!!

Hey yall. I was just thinking.... Why do we hear about so many corrupt Christians???

You rarely ever hear about corrupt Buddhists, Hindus, Jainists, Wiccans, much less Satanists and Atheists. ( I dont think the last one is a "religion", but let's go alone with it...)

And why is that do you think? Probably because what corrupt's nature is is going against what is accepted or right.

(definition of corrupt and example from my mac "the earth was corrupt in God's sight" immoral, depraved, degenerate,reprobate, vice-ridden, perverted, debauched, dissolute, dissipated, bad,wicked, evil, base, sinful, ungodly, unholy, irreligious, profane, impious,impure; informal warped. See note at depraved . antonym moral.)

So we know what corrupt is right? yes. The reason people always hear of corrupt Christians is because we, Christians, have the truth and obviously someone/thing is trying to pull us away from it... That is the TRUTH- as in Christ.

Satan, I don't believe is going to waste his time trying to convert a pebble, to a rock... because in the end, someone is always going see them as the same, as granite, or whatever it is they are made of... Same thing here, why wound he take someone that is wrong and try to correct them to something that is wrong to? Take a Buddhist to Hindu, or a Wiccan to a Jainist if they are all the same? He wouldn't! That is why, I believe, there are so many corrupt Christians. Satan is working hard to tell those who know the truth a lie, and any lie at that...

Love=Truth=Jesus+Cross=Salvation

General BOOKS!!!

Ok, as yall should know. I LOVE BOOKS AND READING. and i have a problem, i wont put down a book until i finish it, i DESPISE not finishing books, but i cant finish a boring book... i just cant do it.... so if anyone out there in internet land would like to leave a book recommendation i would really appreciate it. :D

The Young Lady in Waiting P1 (Book for women, but guys can apply it too)

In my bible study, we are reading this book called The Young Lady in Waiting, and I for one love books so I enjoy reading it.... Now I am on chapter 4 "The Young Lady of Virtue" and one statement says this "To be a virtuous woman, you must let the Holy Spirit have all of you. if you did not completely understand that, let me break it down.

To be a virtuous woman
"to be or not to be, that is the question." Some quote from Shakespeare (I think). This part of the statement means you have to want to be a virtuous woman, if you didn't you could just forget that the book existed and go on your way. But To be a woman after God's own heart your have to be virtuous, (its in the fine print).
Let the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit lives in us correct, thereFORE, we have to let the Holy Spirit act in our lives. How do we do that? Whatever your God instinct is, thats the Holy Spirit. When the girls are all talking about each other (badly) and you get a feeling that says this isn't right follow through. And we are NOT God, so we cant make the Holy Spirit do something or justify something. If you want it right let GOD handle it, Himself, He doesnt need our help!!! He just wants us to try.

Have All of You
I think this one is self-explanatory, but just in case... when was the last time you tried typing one-handed, tying your shoe one-handed, digging in your purse one-handed, playing the piano one-handed??? I cant remember a time when I did, and if i did, it probably wasnt to great, because you cant to anything 1/2 way and get full credit...You do 1/2 the work you get 1/2 (if even) the return. . . So if you want to BE a woman of virtue you must let God have all of yourself!!! Surrendering yourself is a process to some, but a to others it is a blunt decision it depends on what the Holy Spirit tells YOU. If you are in the process, you're on the right track... :D and if your not, please realize it before all of you is gone.

FUEL

Ok, so at my church we have this thing called FUEL; it is supposed to "fuel" up your spiritual life, and if your are empty you are filled. So I was participating in the drama/skit/dance, it was amazing. LIFEHOUSE-Everything Skit. You can Godtube it, or something like that... I'll try to post the link or video (my version) later when I get it myself. But the man playing Jesus was my friend's dad, and my friend was the girl. And with them actually being father-daughter it made the skit so much more believable, the other versions I have seen you can tell its just 2 people playing a role, but here it was... real because it was really his little girl who he saw grow up and now she was "leaving him" and you could tell they had that relationship. The whole skit was so real, there are things in the skit that people I know have struggled with and it just makes it that much more real. The girl had gotten into these different sins, when just 30 secs before she was so in love with her daddy, then her daddy comes to save her from this sin and he saves her from it, and embraces her. It was powerful. And it made me realize, this is me. I may not have personally struggled with everyone of those sins just as she did in such a quick amount of time, but I have struggled with some. Sometimes thinking about going against what you know is right just because you know you aren't supposed to, or when your life doesn't exactly revolve around you when you want it to, you may think "Would people care when Im gone? Why should they, cuz they sure dont notice me now?" But WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT WE ARE HIS CHILDREN AND HE IS OUR LOVING AND POWERFUL DADDY!!!

I have a friend whose dad is 500x more ripped than anyone I know, and even though people may fear him because of his strength, he spoils her rotten, why because she's his little girl who he WOULD DIE FOR. No, Im not saying that God spoils us rotten, but in a way he does... think about it, we sin against heaven and Him all the time-sometimes we dont even ask for forgiveness!- but He still loves us, wants us as His children, longs for us, comforts us when we need it, comfort us when we DONT need it, and blesses us beyond our imagination. PLEASE DONT FORGET THE BIGGEST ONE OF ALL!!! HE DIED FOR US, HE SENT HIS SON TO DIE FOR US AND HE STILL LIVES!!! if thats not the best i dont know what is.

well that is a fantastic question. I could try to answer it to the best of my ability, but I think for the best answer you will ever get will be from the camel's mouth... (God's mouth I mean, not an actual camel).

"Roaring Like A Lion"

Hey, (please ignore the grammar, and punctuation it is really bad in this post because i didnt really care about it at the time, i just wrote what i felt.)

I recently went to a church retreat where the theme for the trip was "Roaring Like A Lion". God is the Lion of Judah. Not many people know that the Lion and the Heiyna are the highest enemies in the animal kingdom huh!

Most people dont know that heiynas are pretty fierce, they have one of the strongest biting powers in the animal kingdom, they can jog from New York to LA... WITHOUT STOPPING. Thats how they catch their prey, their prey sprints away but they are jogging not far behind it... after several occurences with the same animal of this sprinting jogging stuff, the prey is to tired to fend for itself and GIVES INTO THE HEIYNA EATING IT!!!

DID YOU KNOW that if there is 1 h: 1 lioness, lioness will win. 5 h: 1 lioness, lioness will win. 50 h:10 lioness, h will win. 500 h: 1 LION (Judah), h DONT EVEN TRY. Ive already said that God is the LION of JUDAH. Satan against God, fact is: Satan knows he's going to loose, therefore he doesnt even try. What he does do is try to bring us all down with him. we are pawns in the game... he could care less over Tawny Peters or Mark Anderson- the only thing they are to him are numbers. . . . . . . More going down with him... Because if you read revelation or if you believe in God, you know who is going to win... THE LION. So become a lioness and hunt for more christians, and be part of the pride everyday and live for the well-being of the pride, because if you dont... you'll be a hieyna and go down with them...

Well the heiyna is not God as you have probably already figured out., . . . We chose whether we are lions or heiynas. If we give into our sin we are heiynas. If we dont we are lionesses. All christians are lionesses (gender doesn't matter) because the male lion is God, he takes care of his pride and we are true to Him. I WILL LIVE AS A LION EVERYDAY BECAUSE MY GOD IS ALIVE, LIVING ON THE INSIDE ROARING LIKE A LION!!!

True Beauty

True Beauty is something all of us are looking to achieve. In my opinion, you can find something beautiful in anyone. Whether it be physical or not is something else. There are different types of beauty obviously, and here are just a few that I see...

There are some people I don't think look like models, but do they need to? NO. There are so many models in the world that their beauty would look dulled down by all the beauty.

There are other people that I think hide their beauty, I think someone truly (physically) beautiful, can hide it from the world by not flaunting it like others do... Im not saying its a bad thing either way, its just how each individual person presents themselves.

There are people were their attitude is so beautiful, that they even look more "attractive" in our eyes. Like a best friend-could be not physically pretty-but their attitude makes them attractive, and people even look at them differently because of it.

Some people could be an eyesore and you may not be to found of their attitude, but they are so passionate about something it is beautiful without doubt. Example: you may not think that your teacher is hot, but are they passionate for teaching? are they passionate for order? are they passionate about their children or spouse. That passion turns to beauty.

So the next time you look at someone, don't degrade them for not looking like Megan Fox or Scarlett Johanson; think about what their beauty might be.

New Book

I enjoy reading...a lot. But one thing that I hate is when you read a book, it looks good, then suddenly it turns dirty. I like books that have no dirty content but are in fact a good read.

Not all of these books are not Christ based, some are just good books that I have read.

Action

Too many people continuously TALK about what they COULD or WOULD do and not what they WILL do. A pet peeve of mine. Fundraisers, people at church SPEAK of them all the time, but I haven't been to many, I haven't seen many, nor have I heard of many. So lets do something that changes people and turns them towards God. The world isn't going to change unless people do first. This sounds SO clique but if you have a passion for a certain cause go after it, support it. God put us on this earth to love each other, and that is what I am here to do; to love, to serve, and to devote my life to God. I still struggle, but with God by my side, I shall succeed.
