Are we resilient? We can be resilient against God, but with him! Against what HE is against and stand firm in it. Daniel was resilient when he was forced to move to Babylon and was basically enslaved and could not do anything about it but stay true to his God and live right. We can tell Daniel was a righteous man because he lives what it says in Colossians 3:23, "In whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, not for men." And Daniel carried this out, before it was even written. What does that tell us? Daniel put God first, this new country God placed him in second, and his well-being third. That is what makes Daniel so resilient. He puts God first in whatever he did. He fasted-for God, to show his country, which led him to semi-suffer by restraining himself by only eating certain vegetables.
I personally think we can learn a lot from Daniel. I never really thought much of Daniel before, but now I am putting some more thought behind it.
